S. T. Sutton have served the town of Wells-next-the-Sea for over 50 years.

We are a locally-owned, family-run, independent funeral home providing a personal, caring and professional service.

Our professional services include:

  • Collection and care of the deceased (including dressing and time in the Chapel of Rest), the provision of a coffin, hearse, bearers, and a funeral director.
  • Arranging a time and date for the service, liaising with all relevant third parties, for example medical professionals, churches, cemeteries, humanist celebrants, florists, and caterers.
  • Guidance on service format and options.
  • Information on Registration.
  • Help with ordering floral tributes and with handling donations given in lieu of flowers.

Guy Stratton, Funeral Director

Guy Stratton was appointed Funeral Director in 1991 having gained his NAFD diploma in Funeral Directing. He took over the running of S. T. Sutton in the same year. He was at that time the youngest branch manager in Norfolk.

Guy’s aim is to continue the good name of Suttons in providing a professional and caring service. He is supported by Mrs Denise Andrews and Mr Derek Woodhouse, who between them have over 50 years’ experience.

S. T. Sutton has provided a funeral service in Wells-next-the-Sea for over 50 years. Prior to this, the business traded under the names of Grimes of Blakeney and Hewitts of Wells.

In 1991 Stanley Sutton decided to retire. Wishing that his business remain independent, he sold it to the local family firm, Blyth and Sons Ltd of Sheringham.
